Elton John Pulled Rocketman's Taron Egerton Onstage To Sing 'Your Song', And There's Video

In Rocketman, actor Taron Egerton does all of his own singing, and through his performance, he truly becomes Elton John, a musical legend that has been playing in front of sold out crowds for decades. But playing a rock star in a movie isnt quite the same thing as actually being one, and Taron Egerton got a taste of what its like to perform in front of a huge live audience when Elton John pulled him onstage to sing Your Song. Fortunately, theres video, so check it out:

Rocking a rainbow tee shirt and large pair of glasses befitting Elton John, Taron Egerton proved that he can walk the walk and doesnt need the multiple takes of a feature film to be a capable singer. With Taron Egerton singing and Elton John playing piano and joining him on vocals, this duet of Your Song made for a really cool and special moment between the music icon and the man who helped tell his life story onscreen.

This also had to be an amazing treat for the crowd as well. If youre seeing Elton John on tour, theres a good chance youre probably a huge fan and have already seen Rocketman. So like Bradley Cooper showing up to sing with Lady Gaga, this made for a memorable moment that the crowd wont soon forget.

This duet took place at the Sussex County Cricket Club grounds in Hove, England as a part of Elton Johns Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour. The tour, which began last year, will consist of more than 300 shows across 5 continents and will run all the way until 2021. The Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour will be Elton Johns final tour ever as he moves to the next chapter of his life.

So it definitely is poetic that this final tour coincides with the release of his life story in Rocketman and that Taron Egerton got to be a part of Elton Johns last act as a touring artist. Your Song is the perfect choice for the two to sing together, and you can see their affection for one another in lyrics like How wonderful life is when youre in the world.

One of the most charming things surrounding Rocketman has been seeing the relationship between star Taron Egerton and the musical legend he plays in the film. The two seem to have developed a real friendship making the movie, and that came across in the duet of Your Song and in this tweet.

Elton Johns final tour will no doubt be full of special moments as he wraps up his career in grand fashion, and this will surely stand out among them.
